Vivo V50 Elite Edition Launching May 15: Specs, Camera, Battery

Vivo is preparing to unveil a new smartphone in its V-series lineup with the launch of the V50 Elite Edition on May 15 in India. The announcement was confirmed by the company via a teaser post on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, showcasing the “Elite Edition” engraving placed below the camera array on the rear panel.

The Elite Edition will be the third entry in the V50 series, joining the previously launched Vivo V50 and Vivo V50e. While Vivo has not officially shared specifications, leaks and media reports have outlined several expected features.

The V50 Elite Edition is expected to differ visually from its predecessors. According to a report by *Mint*, the handset may arrive with a revamped design while retaining core hardware elements seen in the standard Vivo V50.

It is likely to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and could come equipped with a 6.77-inch full-HD+ AMOLED panel, offering a quad-curved design, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 4500nits of peak brightness.

The upcoming device may include a redesigned circular camera module. Reports suggest a dual-camera system on the rear, incorporating ZEISS optics. The rear setup could include a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization and a 50MP ultrawide lens. A 50MP front-facing camera is also expected, positioned to support high-resolution selfies and video calling.

The smartphone might carry a 6000mAh battery unit with support for 90W wired charging. Like its V50 counterpart, the Elite Edition is anticipated to offer IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The device will likely ship with Funtouch OS 15, built on the latest Android 15 operating system.
